A Volkswagen will launch a new truck in Brazil. This news was confirmed by Greater Curitiba Metalworkers Union (SMC) during a presentation made to employees at the automaker’s São José dos Pinhais (PR) factory.
Without many confirmed details, the organization only said that the project will be announced soon. For those who don’t know, this is the reason why the company has kept the Saveiro’s configurations simpler, despite having implemented a new look for the pickup.
For now, what is known so far is that Volkswagen is thinking about positioning the new car between the compact Saveiro and the new Amarok. In other words, this launch will aim to rival Fiat Toro and Chevrolet Montana in the Brazilian market.
This new information may refer to the Tarok concept, which was presented at the São Paulo Motor Show in 2018. Although this model is also an intermediate pickup truck, it is not yet known whether this will be the implementation of the new car.
In fact, we don’t even know yet whether the name of the new truck will be Tarok. Neither the Union nor Volkswagen named names. Even so, the chances of the car being launched under this name are not exactly low, as “Tarok” has been gaining more traction on the factory floor.
