A BYD has dominated several markets with its electric cars, this includes Brazil, as the company has made several investments in Brazilian territory to soon guarantee the production of your vehicles in our market. Volkswagen does not intend to remain behind in the race and has presented its new electric SUV.

Volkswagen’s ID.UNYX is part of new ID.UX line of electric vehicles that arrives to compete in the Chinese market as an alternative to BYD cars. The new model was presented at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show, one of the biggest automobile events in the world.

The German manufacturer’s new line aims to restore the brand’s leadership that was lost to BYD in the Chinese vehicle market. The ID.UNYX is a compact SUV with a coupe body that should be launched later this year.

The car has a beautiful design with its fluid and sporty lines, with front headlights that integrate daytime running lights and two large LED matrices. Additionally, the car has a front bumper that has air intakes focused on reducing drag. The car’s wheels are 21 inches and deliver a futuristic style.

Inside, the ID.UNYX has a 15-inch multimedia panel that will not leave its driver disconnected from the virtual world. Thanks to the information system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it will be possible to use several features, such as navigation and air conditioning control.

And it’s not just the wheels that give off a futuristic vibe, as there is a head-up display that allows important information to be projected onto the car’s windshield. Things like speed, navigation details and security information should appear in this function.

Finally, the vehicle will feature a propulsion system of two electric motors, front and rear, which will deliver around 250 horsepower to the car. Its latest generation lithium ion battery, supplied by CATL, should deliver a range of up to 400 km on a single charge.

According to Volkswagen’s plans, the automaker should have up to 12 new combustion models and 6 hybrids on the Chinese market by 2030. Before that, 5 new electric models from the ID.UX line should arrive by 2027. There is no launch forecast for the Brazil, although BYD already has electric SUVs here.
