UTRGV volleyball Gears Up for Challenging Season, Setting Tone Early

EDINBURG, TX – The UTRGV Vaqueros volleyball team is poised to launch into a demanding season, with an early schedule designed to forge toughness and cohesion as they prepare for a formidable Southland Conference (SLC) campaign. Home contests against strong programs like GCU and Gonzaga, followed by in-state matchups against Texas State and UTEP, will provide a crucial opportunity for the Vaqueros to establish momentum.

“These matches will help prepare us for what we certainly know will be a tough conference slate, especially with long-standing rivals like Stephen F. Following their initial home stand,UTRGV will embark on a six-game road stretch. The Vaqueros will frist head to Richmond, Kentucky, for the Geri Polvino Invitational hosted by Eastern Kentucky from September 12-13, where they will face Northern Kentucky, Eastern kentucky, and Akron. The non-conference portion of the schedule concludes with a trip to Harrisonburg, Virginia, for James Madison’s Erie Insurance Invitational on September 19-21, featuring games against james Madison, William & Mary, and delaware State.
