Volunteering remains very popular

According to an IMAS study commissioned by the state in April, 99 percent of the population consider volunteer work to be very important or at least important. At least 60 percent of them are volunteers themselves.

Of the remaining 40 percent, it was at least 45 percent in the past, and they stopped working for reasons of age (35), mostly because of a lack of time. Most Upper Austrians are active in the cultural sector (20), closely followed by church and religion (19), the voluntary fire brigade (18) and politics (15).

“Your commitment is indispensable and shapes the cohesion in our country,” says Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) in the run-up to the volunteer day on June 30th. Numerous clubs and organizations will present themselves around the Linzer Landhaus. More information regarding the program at treffpunkt-ehrenamt.at
