It is noteworthy that the collapse of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam and the emptying of its reservoir on the Dnieper River exacerbated the suffering that the region has been suffering from for more than a year.

Russian state television on Monday broadcast footage of what it said were volunteers of the “All-Russian Student Corps of Rescue Workers” working in Ukraine’s Kherson region.

Volunteers carry boxes with humanitarian aid and water bottles to people in areas that were flooded following the collapse of the Kakhovka Dam, pulling out people and animals.

It is noteworthy that the collapse of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam and the emptying of its reservoir on the Dnieper River exacerbated the suffering that the region has been suffering from for more than a year.

As such humanitarian and environmental disasters continue to emerge, it has become clear how tens of thousands of people are deprived of drinking water, many are left homeless, and crops are destroyed. It is possible that the region will accept a shortage of electricity in the long term.
