Volunteers who were about to rescue eight dogs near the demolition wood factory successfully rescued three dogs yesterday

[Animal News]There is good news for the dog rescue operation in the Northeast New Territories Development Area. There are 8 Tang dogs waiting to be rescued near the Chi Kee Wood Factory. Mao Shou successfully rescued 3 of the dogs yesterday and sent them to A Stick House. Take care temporarily. However, the period for which the site allows them to set up cages to save the dogs will expire on September 25, and there are only 4 days left. Mao Shou Kent admitted that the remaining 5 dogs are “elite” and are very wary of people and cages and are not easy to catch. , only try to rescue. Volunteers also asked citizens to donate cooked chicken fillets to feed stray animals in Kwu Tung.

Chi Kee Wood Factory is the only factory in the first phase of land resumption in the new development area in the Northeast New Territories. The three brothers and sisters in charge of the wood factory have been looking for land to relocate. She has been feeding 8 dogs near the wood factory for half a year, but the wood factory is demolished at any time, which makes her worry about the whereabouts of the 8 dogs. The eight dogs used to live in the wood factory area. With the nearby demolition and construction sites, they even lost the canteen and could only live in harsh site conditions.

After Mao Shou discussed with the person in charge of the site, the other party allowed the volunteers to set up a net to save the dogs within the site, but the period was only 10 days, ending on September 25. Kent said the dogs were elite, had escaped many volunteer captures, and only trusted their sisters, so it was very difficult to save them.

The volunteers set up the Tianluodi net in the open space behind the wood factory, and the sister put food in the Tianluodi net to feed the dogs every day. There was good news yesterday. 5 dogs entered the Tianluodi net. The volunteers hurriedly closed the door, but two dogs managed to jump out foot high fence, break through and escape. In the end, the three dogs were rescued and immediately sent to Astick House for temporary resettlement.

For the remaining 5 dogs, Mao Shou did not give up, and would continue to try his best to attract them with chicken tenders and barbecued pork, but Kent admitted that there was little chance of success. He also estimated that the Lands Office would soon come to seal the wood factory, and it would be almost impossible to rescue these dogs.

In addition, volunteers are soliciting cooked chicken willows to feed the dogs and stray animals near Kwudong, hoping that they can eat better during the demolition.

The time and place where Mao Shou received cooked chicken fillets:
Date: September 22 (Thursday), September 24 (Saturday)
Time: 5:00pm to 5:30pm
Location: Sheung Shui Station, near the parking lot next to the OK convenience store at the ground exit of Choi Yuen Village
