On January 18, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) sent an official request to HAGL not to use Carabao energy drink images at V.League 2023. The exclusive line of the current main sponsor in the V.League is Ginseng Ngoc Linh Kon Tum.

Before VPF’s request, HAGL reacted harshly. Even President Doan Nguyen Duc announced that he would quit the tournament if the Pleiku stadium team could not advertise for Carabao.
However, after the meeting between HAGL and VPF, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company agreed to let HAGL place an advertisement board for Carabao on Pleiku stadium, print the logo on the shirt, and operate on the sidelines. This means that Duc and HAGL can be temporarily warm because Carabao sponsors them 80 billion VND each year.
