As a centrist party, a path without bans and constraints is a central concern of the People’s Party. In recent years in particular, the EU has increasingly outdone itself with new bans and regulations – including banning combustion engines. However, citizens rightly expect an EU that focuses on its fundamental values: peace, freedom and prosperity in Europe. Our task as a people’s party is to advocate for the centrist positions that have a majority among the population at all political levels. And the voting behavior of some people paints a clear picture. Unfortunately, it must be noted that this consensus-oriented path is not supported by everyone. It is the foreseeable end of a development that has been going on for a long time. The separation in terms of content, which Karas has made increasingly clear in recent years, has now also been structurally implemented.
