VRT radio presenter Sven Pichal was arrested at the end of last week and is due to appear in the council chambers on Wednesday, we learned from reliable sources on Monday. The Antwerp public prosecutor’s office still refuses to comment on this file, which would revolve around images of abuse of minors.
On Sunday, the radio host suddenly announced that he was leaving the VRT with immediate effect, where he notably presented the program “De Inspecteur” on Radio 2. It is a resignation “for personal reasons”, had -it was clarified. Sven Pichal did not want to give more details on this subject through his lawyer. The Flemish public service also indicated that it was not aware of the reason for this departure.
