Wall Street indices fell after conflicting economic data and hawkish interest rate statements

I opened Major indices on Wall Street Down on Thursday, as mixed economic data and hawkish comments from a Federal Reserve official raised concerns that the US central bank will not soften its hawkish stance on raising interest rates.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 224.6 points, or 0.67%, to 33,329.27 points.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell 39.5 points, or 1%, to 3,919.26, according to Archyde.com.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 175.0 points, or 1.56%, to 11,008.672 points.
