Wall Street opens lower on concerns about rising interest rates

Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower today, Friday, on the back of a decline in large technology and growth stocks, as signs of the resilience of the US economy fueled fears that high interest rates will continue for a longer period.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 106.47 points, or 0.31%, at the open, to 34,368.36 points.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened down 25.48 points, or 0.58%, to 4,344.88 points, according to Archyde.com.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 126.91 points, or 0.95%, to 13,190.02 points at the open.
