Want to participate in WWDC23 and the Swift Student Challenge? See how!

A Apple announced today the date of WWDC23 and, together with the announcement, also specified how to participate in the event.

As it will once again be limited to guests, those interested must fill out a form to request a ticket – if they meet any of the criteria established by the company, obviously.

Current Apple Developer Program and Apple Developer Enterprise Program members, Apple Entrepreneur Camp students, and Swift Student Challenge winners between 2020 and 2022 are eligible to participate in the 2023 WWDC.

If you meet at least one of the above criteria, you will be able to request your participation in the event until April 4th. From then on, applicants will undergo a random selection and, if awarded, will receive an invitation (which is personal and non-transferable).

Like last year, this year’s WWDC will be co-ed and will feature both online and in-person activities. Most of them will be online, which will allow people from all over the world to follow them.

We will host a special all-day experience in Apple Park to kick off an incredible week of sessions, labs and online activities.

Apple will also continue to follow safety protocols against COVID-19, such as the availability of hand sanitizer and masks (optional). There will be no mandatory minimum distance between guests.

Applications for the Swift Student Challenge 2023

As mentioned above, the Swift Student Challenge it is one of the criteria that can lead someone to WWDC and, speaking of it, Apple also disclosed how the process is given to participate in this year’s program.

Aimed at students who are starting out in the field of software development, this time’s challenge consists of creating a Playground-type app (.swiftpm) that can be performed in up to three minutes.

According to Apple, candidates cannot be working full-time as a developer, but must be registered with Apple as such – either in the free mode or through the Apple Developer Program.

You must also be enrolled in an accredited educational institution or have completed high school within the last 6 months and are waiting to join one. Students from one of the many Apple Developer Academys are also eligible to apply.

Registration is now open and should be done on this page until the 19th of April. Winners will receive exclusive WWDC23 apparel, AirPods Pro, a set of custom pins and a year of Apple Developer Program membership.

As the deadline for entries is longer than the deadline for applying for a WWDC23 ticket, applicants will be able to check a checkbox at the time of entry if they wish to be included in a separate random selection process for this year’s winners.

It’s a lot of benefit, isn’t it?!
