War in the East: “Congolese, let’s wake up and refuse this state of affairs” (Martin Fayulu)

The DRC has been the theater of rebel groups in its eastern part for more than two decades. According to Martin Fayulu, the catastrophic situation in Congo is directly linked to the Rwandan genocide of 1994.

In his statement on X this April 10, Martin Fayulu asks the Congolese people to refuse the continuation of this disastrous situation which is killing the nation by taking its sons and daughters in a cowardly and dirty manner. The politician makes it clear that it is now impossible to hope for any solution from the international community, hence the interest for the Congolese people to act on their own.

“At this moment when Rwanda commemorates its genocide (genocide of the Tutsis, Hutus and Twa), we recall that in the #DRC, a Holocaust continues to occur, another genocide, a direct consequence of the first. And this, with the total indifference of the international community. Congolese, let’s wake up and refuse this state of affairs!” he said.

Note that the DRC continues to increase efforts to get rid of all rebel groups operating on its territory. With the support of regional armed forces, notably those of the SADC, several localities in the east of the country were able to escape being taken hostage by rebel enemies of Congo.
