The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus arrives promising to be Xiaomi’s most complete mid-range cell phone with a powerful 200 MP camera, neat design and powerful charger. Will it be the brand’s best buy?
The design is similar to the others in the line with small changes in the camera layout, but here we have a curved body for a more comfortable grip. Furthermore, it is the first to come with IP68 certification for protection against water and its screen features Gorilla Glass Victus glass to reinforce against impacts.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus comes with a 6.67-inch screen with 1220p resolution, 12-bit color depth, 120 Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision with strong brightness. There are three sound outputs for powerful, immersive audio for enjoying movies and games.
It comes equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, which features an octa-core processor and Mali-G610 GPU with four graphics cores. The one we tested has 12 GB of RAM. It did well in our multitasking test, staying above most intermediaries. It also does very well in games, even the heaviest ones.
The disappointing part is the 5,000 mAh battery, which lasted less in our test than others from Xiaomi with the same energy capacity. At least we have a powerful 120W charger in the box to compensate, which only takes 25 minutes to fill the battery.
The photographic set is the same as others in the line and we have a 200 MP sensor combined with an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor and a simple 2 MP sensor for macros. For selfies, there is a front camera with a maximum resolution of 16 MP. The quality is good, even in low-light locations, but don’t expect to compete with more advanced models with the same resolution. The camcorder is more limited, especially the front camera at night.
