War in the East: the DRC is not Ukraine, “Félix Tshisekedi pursues a utopia”

It is no longer a secret that the DRC is the victim of Rwanda’s barbaric attacks, and Félix Tshisekedi continues to hope that a resolution from the international community would put an end to this war.

The Head of State hopes that an involvement of the international community on a large scale like that during the Russo-Ukrainian war would do the trick. For him, the major nations of the world could initiate sanctions against Rwanda in order to save the Congolese nation currently held hostage by the rebels supported by Paul Kagame and his regime.

“I believe, I have always said to the Secretary General of the United Nations, to all my interlocutors, especially those whose countries are members of the Security Council, that our satisfaction will only be complete when the Security Council of the Nations -United States will decide to take sanctions against Rwanda. Because for acts similar to those of Russia, a shower of sanctions has been decided,” said Félix Tshisekedi during a press briefing held on Thursday February 22, 2024.

Congo victim of its rank

On the airwaves of the DRC, Félix Tshisekedi declared: “Why, in a case similar to that of Russia and Ukraine, is there no sanction? So, until there is that, all resolutions for me will be, so to speak, “can do better”, as mentioned”; a declaration which proves the hope of the Head of State placed in the decisions of the international community.

However, Félix Tshisekedi should remember that the international community is full of several executives whose financial assets are very healthy, nourished by the blood wealth of the Congolese people. Rwanda today at the forefront of the war would only be the tip of the iceberg, supported by Western powers whose desire to enrich themselves is far from gone with the decolonization of Africa.

The geostrategic context in the Russo-Ukrainian war forced the nations of the North to take drastic decisions against Russia in order to protect their lands while a threat in the heart of Africa will be far from disrupting the peace of France , England or even the USA.

At the rate at which the situation is evolving, the DRC is called upon to take charge of itself, while starting by organizing itself internally. The West can do nothing for the Congo today, especially in the context of a war fueled by the desire to control the wealth of Lumumba’s country. Warnings from the international community will never be accompanied by sanctions, say Congolese citizens.
