War in Ukraine: a “no to war” banner before the Coupe de France and Ligue 1 matches

“No to War”. It is through this banner, at the initiative of the FFF and the LFP, that French football will send a message of peace, according to the information from the newspaper l’Equipe. It will be deployed around the Nice-Versailles and Nantes-Monaco meetings, the two semi-finals of the Coupe de France on Tuesday and Wednesday. This message will then be repeated during the next Ligue 1 weekend, including the Nice-Paris SG and Marseille-Monaco posters.

During the pre-match protocol, actors, spectators and television viewers will be able to see this poster. This is the first operation directly carried out by the French Football Federation and the Professional Football League since February 24, the day the Russian attacks on Ukraine began.

Last week some clubs have already, on their own, supported their support for the Ukrainians. Reims showed up five minutes after the scheduled kick-off during the match against Monaco. The Gabriel-Montpied stadium in Clermont gave Danylo Ignatenko a standing ovation, the Ukrainian player playing for the Girondins de Bordeaux.
