War in Ukraine: Russia sanctions 963 American personalities with a ban on entry into its territory… including 7 who are still dead

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published this Saturday a list of American personalities hit with a ban on entry into its territory.

In retaliation for similar US sanctions taken against Russian citizens and to compel the United States to change its behavior by “recognizing the new geopolitical realities”le Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on May 21 to deprive 963 American personalities of the right to enter its territory.

But, surprisingly, appear in this list seven people yet deceased, including the former Republican senator, figure of the party, John McCain. The Russian document even mentions the date of death of five of them.

The seven personalities who died and were banned from entering Russia are as follows:

  • ex-Senator John McCain (died 2018),
  • ex-Senator Harry Reid (died 2017)
  • ex-Senator Orrin Hatch (died 2022)
  • ex-Congresswoman Alcee Hastings (died 2021)
  • Melissa Drisko, former CIA First Deputy Director (died 2018)
  • ex-judge Steven O’Neill (died in 2018)
  • former U.S. Army Reservist Jeremy Sivits (died 2022)

The list of people sanctioned includes several senior Biden administration officials, including Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. It also includes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the president’s son, Hunter Biden.
