War in Ukraine: Valérie Pécresse and Éric Zemmour want to see Nicolas Sarkozy as “mediator” of the conflict

Received Friday by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, Nicolas Sarkozy is asked by Valérie Pécresse and Éric Zemmour, candidates for the presidential election, to play a role of mediator in the war in Ukraine.

The candidate of the Republican party spoke on Sunday evening on social networks. In his post, Valerie Pécresse indicates having met twice with Nicolas Sarkozy, without failing to praise the qualities of the former Minister of the Interior and President of the Republic on the international level.

“Given his unique experience of international crisis situations and his exceptional ability to resolve them, as he proved in Georgia, I propose that France and the European Union appoint him as European mediator for Ukraine”. The objective to be achieved: a ceasefire and “negotiations for the resolution of the conflict.”

Éric Zemmour also appeals to Nicolas Sarkozy

Rival of Valérie Pécresse, Éric Zemmour did not remain in place. The candidate and president of Reconquest! addressed Emmanuel Macron in a letter, published on social networks a few hours before the publication of Valérie Pécresse. Éric Zemmour believes that “France can no longer remain wait-and-see and must do everything possible to put an end to this aggression quickly and obtain peace as quickly as possible.

The candidate for the presidential election mentions the names of Nicolas Sarkozy and Hubert Védrine, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, between 1997 and 2002. A choice justified by their representation of France on the international scale as an “independent power and balance” by the former polemicist.

“Both are respected by the belligerents, by the Ukrainians as well as by the Russians, by Europeans and Americans. Both have experience in diplomacy and mediation,” adds Éric Zemmour, who wants to see former politicians in Moscow and Kiev in order to obtain a ceasefire as quickly as possible.
