Warning message from Russia: arms shipments to Ukraine herald a ‘disaster’

The Russian presidency considered that arms shipments to Ukraine “threaten European security”, after a new call from British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss to deliver more heavy weapons and aircraft to Kyiv.

“This tendency to flood Ukraine with weapons, especially heavy weapons, is an act that threatens the security of the continent and destabilizes,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

This comes after the British Foreign Secretary said that the Western allies should double the support they provide to Ukraine in the midst of its war with Ukraine, and that this includes providing combat aircraft to it, and this is the first time that Britain has spoken publicly about a proposal to provide warplanes to Ukraine, which is fighting a war with Ukraine. More than two months ago, there was a war with Russia, according to Sky News.

The level of Western support for Kiev has increased from munitions and anti-missiles to armored vehicles recently, and now it seems that this support will reach the warplanes.

In a speech on foreign policy at Mansion House in London, Liz Truss said the international system designed to ensure peace and prosperity in Ukraine had failed in the face of a Russian attack.

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Western countries are publicly calling on Ukraine to attack Russia, adding that the West should take Moscow seriously when it says strikes on Russian soil will lead to a response.
