Al-Marsad newspaper: Lloyd Austin, the US Secretary of Defense, commented on the nuclear threats issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He said during an interview with CNN, that Putin’s claim is illegal and an irresponsible statement.
He added that this nuclear threat is not the kind we expect to hear from the leaders of large countries with great capabilities.
“We expect that the Ukrainians will continue to reclaim their lands within their sovereign borders,” he added.
“I don’t think this will stop and we will continue to support them in their efforts,” he concluded.
Putin had said after the annexation of the four Ukrainian regions to Russia, that these lands are now Russian and that he will defend these Russian lands by all possible means.
