Children usually taste the drinks that are consumed by others around them, far from being aware of their harms and benefits, such as soft drinks, juices that contain colourings, etc., and here comes the role of parents in paying attention to what their children drink and eat.

Providing soft drinks to children poses a threat to their health and proper development, as “soda” may cause a child’s loss of appetite, his distance from eating healthy meals, affecting the digestive system, and urinary disturbance, in addition to osteoporosis that makes them thin and fragile. It may break due to minor stress, such as bending or carrying simple objects.

Also, children who drink “soda” continuously are more likely to develop childhood diabetes, because of its effect on blood sugar, in addition to the fact that the “aspartame” substance found in soft drinks affects the integrity of the endocrine glands, which leads to disruption of their work.

And it also has risks related to dental health, as researchers have found a relationship between it and tooth decay because of what it contains sugars and acids that affect tooth enamel, and other problems in the gums.
