Wave goodbye! Nintendo eShop to Shut Down on 3DS and Wii U March 2023

On July 19, Nintendo announced that it will be discontinuing the Nintendo eShop on the 3DS and Wii U platforms on March 28, 2023.

The Nintendo eShop on the 3DS and Wii U platforms will shut down prepaid on August 30th. Purchases of games, extra content, and code replenishment will then be closed on March 28, 2023, in the event that there are still funds left in the account. The system will automatically transfer funds to your Nintendo Account connected to your Nintendo Network ID.

Additionally, there may be some games that will stop selling on the Nintendo eShop early, such as Fire Emblem if, which will stop selling on February 28, 2023.

After the Nintendo eShop is closed on the 3DS and Wii U, games or add-on content previously purchased on both platforms will still be available for download. But there is still the possibility that the download service may be discontinued in the future.
