This State Park is one of the most spectacular natural sites in the south of the country. It has three legendary hiking trails and dozens of lakes surrounded by trees that flow into the Calcasieu River.
It has 28 hectares of Virginia pines, the oldest existing species of pines. But it also has a diversity of fauna that can be found in few places. Here we can see turtles, alligators, otters, raccoons and more than 200 species of birds. It is also a reference in water sports and offers many courses on the Calcasieu River and its many lagoons. To stay you have the option to choose between spending the night in a campsite (in the old fashioned way) or in a glamping, much more sophisticated.

Valley of Fire State Park is known for its 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone. Here you can find petrified trees and petroglyphs that are over 2,000 years old. It is located in the Mojave desert and is a true geological paradise. In addition, a natural phenomenon occurs in this park that gives meaning to the name of the Valley: at sunset, the last rays of the sun reflect on the ground, giving the impression that the park is on fire. Another advantage is that it is less than 50 miles from Las Vegas, so it can be a perfect combination for a vacation: the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas and the peace of nature.

It is located on the slopes of the Smokey Mountains and is made up of rocks that are more than two and a half million old. This State Park is home to historic trail junctions, turn-of-the-century ranches, and remnants of Native American pictographs. It is also ideal for cycling, in its rugged mountainous terrain, and for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. It is also the perfect destination to spend a few days with the family and practice archery with the park rangers or fish for trout and salmon in the river.

Desoto State Park is located at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains in northwestern Alabama. It is very extensive and has more than 40 kilometers of hiking trails. It is a spectacle of color and natural beauty. In autumn the sunset is a show, in spring its brilliant azaleas turn pink and in summer the vibrant green of its forests catches all eyes. Also, just a few minutes’ drive away is Alabama’s highest waterfall, at 40 meters high, in Little River Canyon. Here, black bears are sighted daily feeding at the foot of the waterfall. You can choose to spend the night in cozy cabins with fireplaces or in a campsite in the middle of the woods and sing country songs around a campfire.

In Little Missouri State Park in western North Dakota, there are some of the rockiest and most picturesque “Bandlands” in the entire state. In the park there are more than 45 paths and you can travel on horseback to explore them in their entirety. One of its most popular trails is the Park Loop, an eight-kilometre route ideal for a different adventure, with panoramic views of the “Badlands”. It is advisable to bring binoculars because you can see a very unusual fauna: from deer and lynx to golden eagles. And at night, nothing like camping under the stars.
