Standard de Liège is having a nightmarish season to the chagrin of supporters who have repeatedly expressed their anger. Furious with the management, they are always behind their team, and this one needed it.
“It did the team a lot of good, especially since we were in a difficult situation. When you push in the first half and you hear the supporters, you have a lot more energy. We missed it a lot!” confided Nicolas Raskin after the meeting. “Lately we haven’t been able to make them feel proud so I absolutely understand their anger. We have to record wins and look forward to next season,” the midfielder stressed.
Author of a great performance, Laurent Henkinet also spoke about the fans of number 16. “We showed desire from the start of the meeting and wanted to show them that we were there. We need of them and are stronger when they are behind us. I understand their disappointment given our season and our results”, underlined the rouche goalkeeper.
