We have reached the trade-off between Corona patients… What did Araji say?

“Lebanon Debyte”

The head of the Parliamentary Health Committee, MP Assem Araji, told “Lebanon Debate” that “we reach a comparison between Corona patients who need oxygen or intensive care rooms, especially in government hospitals, specifically Rafic Hariri Governmental Hospital.”

As for the reason for this, according to MP Araji, “the severe shortage of medical equipment and supplies, the shortage of nurses in care, and the great pressure that the government hospital is experiencing in the context of treating Corona patients.”

He stressed that “all government hospitals need immediate support, because a large part of private hospitals have not reopened Corona departments, and private hospitals that still receive Corona patients are facilitating their affairs from the differences that the patient pays.”

He called on the President of the Republic and the government to “take an exceptional approval to support government hospitals,” revealing that “the Minister of Health requested this approval, that is, to disburse support to hospitals and the Ministry of Health, but this request was rejected and they told him that the exception would only be approved in the Council of Ministers.”

He spoke of the “danger posed by the situation,” considering that “we are in a failed state in every sense of the word, as it cannot provide health coverage for its citizens,” and said that “what is required today before tomorrow is support for nurses and medical supplies for government hospitals, otherwise the situation will get worse.”
