The mother of the Argentine model Agostina Jalabert, who was found dead on February 18 in her apartment in Playa del Carmen, in Mexico, spoke to the media in recent hours. The woman assured that her daughter she had already been a victim of violence in the past by her boyfriendthe main defendant for the crime.
“Two years ago we rescued Agos from her apartment in Viedma. If we didn’t go looking for her that day, this would have happened at that moment”, anguished Carolina, the young woman’s mother, told a press conference broadcast through social networks.
Since the tragic news gained public notoriety, the Jalabert family insists that it was a case of femicide. It is that Agostina’s partner would have already committed violent acts against the young woman two years ago.
According to the woman, her 31-year-old daughter lived at that time with Juan Manuel Reverter in the provincial capital. She added that after that episode the man kept insisting to see her.
“One day I found him at the door of the house. I found him by chance and told him not to bother her anymore. That Agostina had plans and that they were not with him”, he described. And along the same lines, he added: “After that, he disappeared from Agostina’s life, but two years later he returned. The situation was chaos. The difference was that in Playa del Carmen we were not there to rescue her”.
In this regard, Agostina’s mother regretted not having made the complaint at that time and described the alleged femicide as “perverse, cynical and narcissistic”.
“Today it is hidden. He sure hears and sees everything. We know that it is so. He would have given his version if he had nothing to hide. His parents are responsible for covering up this monster”, she concluded moved.
“The autopsy spoke, it was terrible”
Just a few hours before expressing herself through the networks, Carolina had given an interview to the América channel. There she revealed that, although Agostina’s autopsy was released to the media on Monday, she already knew the results a week before.
“The autopsy spoke, it was terrible, just yesterday it was exposed to the media, I knew it for a week but I couldn’t hear anything, I only heard ‘torture’ and I broke down. Her boyfriend killed her, a boy from here in Viedma“, he claimed.
“In the World Cup, I think that in the match with the Netherlands, we saw some photos, a video that she was with an Argentine, and we said: ‘Well, he’s with an Argentine, he’s full’, and then he told us that he was with him”explained the woman.
“Candela (Agostina’s sister) told me that everything was fine, but she also had her doubts, because more than once I know that she had to put the stitches on her. I have her recordings of the things she said to him, but the truth is that I never expected such an end, ”she added.
Finally, he stressed that on Friday, February 17, his daughter sent him a message in the afternoon: “Mom, I feel ugly, I feel that I deserve men who hurt me”.
