We will face Liverpool at their best

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that he expects Liverpool to be at their best, despite their faltering start to the season, when the two teams meet in the Premier League on Sunday.

Liverpool, runners-up in the last edition of the competition, occupies tenth place in the league following eight games, 13 points behind second-placed City.

“I expect Liverpool to be in the best shape possible,” said De Bruyne, who has made nine goals in the league this season. Of course he lost some points, but he’s still Liverpool and I expect him to do well, I don’t see the opposite.

He added: “I love the big matches, I love the good atmosphere. It’s a match like any other, of course, it’s always tough to play one of the top six away from you, I think we’ve done really well in the last few years.

The two teams tied 2-2 in their league matches last season, which saw City crowned the title by one point once morest Liverpool.

De Bruyne said: “It’s a team that goes forward sometimes and falls back, and we are a team that controls the game more, so if you can control this style of play, you may increase your chances.”
