Météo France has maintained the orange alert in two departments due to the current heat wave.
The heat wave is not over yet. Météo France announced this Saturday morning that two departments, Vaucluse and Gard, were kept on heat wave orange vigilance.
At 5 a.m. this Saturday morning, temperatures remained high around the lower Rhône valley with sometimes even more than 24°C, especially in Gard and Vaucluse.
Thirteen other departments, including Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales, are placed on heatwave yellow vigilance.
This Saturday morning at 7 a.m., the temperature rose to 26°C in Perpignan, 24°C in Narbonne and 21°C in Carcassonne.
This Saturday followingnoon, the maximum temperatures will often still show 35 to 38°C over the Mediterranean South. Up to 36°C are expected around 3 p.m. in Perpignan, 36°C also in Narbonne around 4 p.m. and up to 33°C in Carcassonne in the middle of the followingnoon.
Ten departments, including the Pyrénées-Orientales, were placed on yellow storm vigilance this Saturday. The other departments concerned are Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Haute-Garonne, Ariège, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Haute-Corse and Corsica -from South.
Temperatures should be lower this Sunday in the Mediterranean departments while waiting a new heat wave announced for next week.
