However, as the well-known meteorologist pointed out, the difficult times come from Friday (19/4) at noon until Saturday (20/4) at noon, drawing the attention of citizens for this 24-hour period of intense phenomena.

Weather: The 10 areas at risk

“We’re going to have a major storm. A nationwide bad weather that will affect the Eptanisa, the mainland, Peloponnese, Sterea, Evia, Sporades, Thessaly, Epirus, Macedonia, Thrace and the Aegean islands. But I will focus on specific sections. I will focus on the areas in the northern continental parts. Central and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the islands of the Eastern Aegean. In these areas the phenomena will have both intensity and duration. They will be accompanied by strong storms and winds and we will probably have flooding phenomena at a local level. It seems that the worst weather will hit there,” said Mr. Kallianos.

“If we want to be more specific: Beware of Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Kavala, Alexandroupoli and later Lesbos, Lemnos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria, Kos. These are the areas where the most water will fall and possibly with great intensity,” he added.

“Besides these, we will also have a drop in temperature, by 10 degrees Celsius compared to the previous days. It will go to 21-23 degrees, maybe locally and a little below. It will also turn into snow in some areas at high altitudes, above 1,500-1,700 meters in the mountains of Northern Greece. From Sunday-Monday, not that the weather will improve particularly, there will be remnants of the bad weather, but they will not be a problem anymore”, concluded the well-known meteorologist.
