The Dutch Lottery, known as a seller of State lottery tickets, no longer advertises on X. Online store Bol has also turned its back on the social media platform.
For example, the Dutch Lottery wants to prevent its advertisements from being visible with unwanted and inappropriate messages. Bol reports that it stopped when Elon Musk took over the former Twitter. The online store no longer wants to associate its brand with X due to “a lack of content moderation”.
Several major companies, including IBM and Apple, have recently stopped on the platform due to anti-Semitism on X.
The companies did this after research group Media Matters published screenshots of advertisements under messages extolling the ideas of Adolf Hitler or the Third Reich. X has sued the research group for this.
X owner Elon Musk is under heavy fire. He recently responded to a post that said “Jews are fueling hatred against white people.” Musk responded with: “You’re telling the truth.”
White House condemns Musk
The White House condemned the Tesla CEO last week for his “abhorrent promotion” of anti-Semitism. According to a White House spokesperson, his attitude goes against the core values of the United States.
Given the increase in the number of anti-Semitic incidents since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, Musk’s comments are particularly damaging, according to the White House.
