The 25-year-old artist was on a tour that included several presentations in Boyacá; Precisely, the tragedy began when he was on his way to fulfill one of those commitments: Iván José was going to sing at the festivals and fairs of Floresta, but he had an accident on the road that leads from Tunja to Sogamoso, more precisely at the height of Paipa, in an area known as El Manzano.
The only seriously injured
Regarding the circumstances of the accident, it is known that Iván José was with Sebastián Cárdenas, logistics coordinator of his musical group, and the pianist Alexander Pedroza. The three were injured, but only Iván José’s injuries were serious, so he was taken by ambulance to the Duitama Regional Hospital; then he had to be referred to a more complex clinic in Bogotá.
Iván José was a geological engineer, a profession he practiced in the Governorate of Boyacá; however, his thing was always the stages. The artist began to fall in love with music from a very young age and, together with the accordion player Carlos Zedán, he had begun to perform on various stages in the country.
“There were hundreds of places we reached with music, many kilometers traveled and not to mention the nights and dawns that we received and said goodbye. I am sure that if he were to write these words today, he would say with the same certainty what music represents in our lives and the enormous blessing for us, in many areas, but more in personal growth”, Zedán had written a few days ago on his Instagram .
