Well, MSI’s RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X will have had a very, very short lifespan. NVIDIA did not like the naming of the card and would have asked MSI to withdraw it from sale, quite simply, one week following being unveiled. Indeed, the name is somewhat misleading.
RTX 3060 Ti Super 3X, finished before even starting!
Basically, this RTX 3060 Ti “Super” is not a “Super” version in the proper sense of the term. Indeed, if this denomination was used by NVIDIA to qualify its RTX 2000 refresh this is not the case with the RTX 30s. Here, there was no dusting off of the range, so no “Super”.
In reality, with this model, MSI was simply offering a 3060 Ti equipped with faster GDDR6X memory chips. The “Super 3X” simply refers to the cooling system, incidentally from the Suprim series.
Anyway, the information here (via HKEPC), is that NVIDIA would simply have asked MSI to withdraw its card from sale. We imagine for confusing denotation reasons. However, as Europeans, this news will not change our daily lives since this model was intended mainly for the Asian market!
