LONG BEACH & AZUSA, CA – The Terps headed out to the west coast for the Long Beach Invitational and Bryan Clay Invitational. Kayla Thorpe showed out on the first day of the double meet in California.
Thorpe competed in the women’s javelin throw in Long Beach, launching a 51.69 and finishing fifth in the finals and improved on the school record she already holds in the women’s javelin.
Other Highlights
- Kami Joi Hickson ran in the women’s 800m invite in the Bryan Clay Invitational, coming in at 2:08.15 giving her a new personal best. Emma Pegg also ran in the women’s 800m and ran a season best time of 2:11.70.
- Mekhi Abbott competed in the men’s javelin throw in Long Beach, throwing a 61.51m.
- Eric Albright competed in the men’s 800m invite in the Bryan Clay Invitational, coming in at 1:49.74.
- Katie Altieri ran in the women’s 5000m open in the Bryan Clay Invitational, finishing with a season best 16:57.95 time.
- Andrew Harmon competed in the men’s hammer throw at Long Beach, launching 59.68m.
The Terps will be back in action out in California for day two of competition from both meets.
