Derbies always have a special flavor for supporters and the match between West Ham and Arsenal is the perfect illustration of this this Sunday. For the 24th day of the Premier League, the Hammers host the Gunners and Mikel Arteta’s players dealt a slap to the locals since they led 4-0 at half-time. A score which frustrated West Ham supporters since a large number of them left the stadium at the end of this first act.

West Ham lacking solutions against Arsenal

After losing 3-0 to Manchester United last weekend, the Hammers had a great opportunity to recover at home against Arsenal. Undefeated in their London Stadium for ten matches in all competitions, the West Ham players took to the water in this first half against the Gunners in total success.

In the space of a quarter of an hour, Arsenal folded the match. William Saliba opened the scoring in this match with a headed goal from a corner (32nd, 1-0). Bukayo Saka (41st, 2-0 from the penalty spot), Gabriel (44th, 3-0) and Leandro Trossard (45+2, 4-0) allowed the Gunners to kill this meeting at the break.
