What are Intel Arc A700 graphics cards worth a few months after their release?

The current performances of the A770, A750 and A380 graphics cards in about ten games at 1080p, 1440p, 2160p, compared to their performances at the time of their release. Have the many driver updates released by Intel fixed the situation?

The Intel Arc A770 and A750 graphics cards have been available in France since around October. They are currently trading for around 410 and 300 euros in online stores. Like the Arc A380, beyond the hardware aspect, these graphics cards initially suffered from insufficient software support; a handicap that Intel teams strive to correct through regular driver updates. In November, for example, the company released a 3802 driver improving the framerate in some games; the following month, in December, the firm released a 3953 driver claimed to double the performance of Arc GPUs in certain DirectX 9 games; a performance improvement in DirectX 9 games also advanced for the early February 4086 driver.

In short, if you are wondering what the Arc A770 and A750 graphics cards are currently worth, here is the answer thanks to a new test carried out by Tom’s Hardware US.

In view of what has been exposed above, Jarred Walton decided to retest the A770, A750 and A380 to compare the results with those measured at the time of release. He submitted the graphics cards to about fifteen games in 1080p and 1440p, including Borderlands 3, Control, Counter Strike Global Offensive, Total War Wharammer III or even Cyberpunk 2077, and to about ten games in 2160p. Our colleague’s test platform uses an Intel Core i9-12900K processor installed on an MSI Pro Z690-A WiFi DDR4 motherboard. The PC has 2 x 16 GB of Corsair DDR4-3600 memory and runs Windows 11 Pro 64-bit.

performance in games

You will find the overall averages in the table below. Important clarification: in some titles, the gains measured are valid for all GPUs and are not directly attributable to Intel drivers. Indeed, some games have simply been optimized by their developers. Total War: Warhammer III, to name just one, received a major update a few weeks ago that boosted performance by around 20% on virtually all GPUs. Do not hesitate to consult the test directly to know the performance for each game. Our colleague has marked those which work in a different version of the original tests with an asterisk.
