Very specific rules
Note that “merchants can only sell items paid for and offered for sale for at least one month from the start date of the sales period”, indicates the Ministry of Economy. Regarding returns, exchanges or refunds, the usual rules apply. “The mention ‘During the sales, neither taken back nor exchanged’ is therefore abusive”, specifies Bercy.
Finally, with regard to sales on the Internet, the sites are subject to the same regulations as physical stores. The dates remain the same, regardless of the location of the company’s registered office. “Whether the item is purchased on sale or not, the consumer may return the product to the seller for exchange or refund, without any penalty, within fourteen days of delivery,” says the Ministry of the Economy.
