Actor Salim Kumar says that there is a different form of films made by Bharathan and Padmarajan. He said that the movies now are not different from the past and it seems like the old wine has been repackaged in a new bottle. He was speaking in an interview given to The New Indian Express Kerala.
‘It has been four years since I left the film industry. Meanwhile, there have been no noticeable changes in the film. KG was here in the past. The new generation has not brought any changes brought by George or Aravindan. Changes are just saying.
What people like Padmarajan and Bharata did is now seen in a different form. Other than that, there are no drastic new changes in the movie now. It’s just old wine put into new bottles. And I don’t think anything has changed,’ said Salim Kumar.
He said that compared to the past, the new generation of Aswads don’t like leading actors and they are very different from the old generation.
“In the old days, if you ask who is your favorite actor, you will say either Sathyan or Naseer. But the generation after that will say Mammootty or Mohanlal. But today’s generation is different from that. Today’s generation is not 100 percent Mammootty or Mohanlal. There are external actors. Ajith’s and Vijay’s films get more collections than those of local actors,’ said Salim Kumar.
