Tires of various sizes, plastic bottles and various other garbage were the accounts of what the members of the Patras Winter Swimmer Association found during the cleaning they did on Plaz beach.
The day before yesterday, Mr Winter Swimmers Association in collaboration with members of the spearfishing and freediving community carried out jointly bottom cleaning on the busy beach.
After several hours of hard work, they gathered 21 car tires of various sizes and bottles (plastic, glass, aluminum)which were recovered by divers.
The Association periodically carries out cleaning actionsaiming to offer better water quality, as these are people who bathe almost all year round.

OR president of the Association of Winter Swimmers, Maria Oktara spoke to the newspaperPeloponnese” and pointed out: “We took the initiative to clean the bottom of the beach where many bathers swim. It was a difficult effort which bore fruit thanks to the tenacity of the participants and we had a beautiful result.
I thank MVD engineering sea innovation products of Manolis Valis, a local company of global scope, for the gifts it offered to the participants, as well as the Raitopoulos bakery for the ready meals it offered.”
The active Association pledges to continue similar actions on other beaches of Achaia.
