What each team needs to advance to the Clausura 2024 semifinals

Between Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25, the first legs of the quarterfinals of the 2024 Clausura Tournament of Guatemalan soccer were played.
Deportivo Mixco, Comunicaciones FC, Deportivo Malacateco and Antigua GFC won their respective matches and have one foot in the semifinals, but not everything is written since between Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th the return matches will be played and everything could change.
In the first match of the quarterfinals, Mixco emerged victorious from its visit to the Winston Pineda stadium in Jutiapa by winning 0-2 against Deportivo Achuapa.
Mixco would get his ticket to the semi-finals with any tie or even if they lose by a goal difference. Achuapa, on the other hand, must obtain a lead of at least 3-0 to be in the next round.
In the second match of the quarterfinals, the Comunicaciones FC team beat Cobán Imperial 1-0 and broke a streak of six games without victory.
For the team now led by coach Willy Coito, a draw or any victory is enough to be in the semifinals and continue with the search for the two-time championship. Cobán, for its part, must win by at least 1 goal difference to force extra time or win by two or more goals..
Already in the games on Thursday the 25th; Malacateco defeated Municipal 3-2 and everything in that series is open since the difference is a single goal. For the bulls it is necessary to maintain the result, to achieve this they can tie and they would be in the next phase.
The scarlet team must win 1-0 or 2-0, with this result it would be enough to advance to the semifinals.
Finally, Antigua GFC won at the Los Cuchumatanes stadium with a great goal from José Ardón and will face the second leg with a one-goal cushion that allows it to advance to the semifinals with a tie.
Xinabajul, on the other hand, must win by two goals or more if they want to enter the fight for the title.
