Elisabeth Borne will sign this Friday an agreement with Action Logement, the opportunity to keep its commitments on the housing crisis. For this, the Prime Minister intends to relax the conditions of allocation. But what does it consist of? We take stock.

Free deposit scheme, subject to conditions

Visale, like housing and employment visa, is a free deposit scheme. Launched in 2016, it is offered by the government and Action Logement. This guarantee covers rent, charges and damage to a tenant’s main residence, up to a limit of 1,500 euros per month in Ile-de-France and 1,300 euros per month in the rest of the territory.

If a tenant can no longer pay his rent, Action Logement pays the sums due to the landlord. Sums that the tenant will be obliged to repay to the State thereafter. Visale covers up to 36 months of unpaid rent in the private sector and nine months in the social sector, such as student residences. All young people between 18 and 30, regardless of their situation, are eligible, as well as, for example, employees over 30 with an income of less than or equal to 1,500 euros per month.
