Concretely, when the user presses this new key, a window will request an action from ChatGPT, such as automatically generating Powerpoint presentations or writing an email independently. Creating an image via Dall-E will also be possible.

“The introduction of the Copilot key is the first significant change to our computer keyboards in almost three decades,” enthuses Yusuf Mehdi, head of marketing at Microsoft. “Nearly 30 years ago, we introduced the Windows key to our computer keyboards, which allowed people around the world to interact with Windows.”

The company is thus taking a further step towards the democratization of artificial intelligence. More details on how this key works should be clarified in the coming days, during CES, the show dedicated to technological innovation, which takes place in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12.

The first models will go on sale in February.
