What it is and how to use it for your declaration in 2024

Let’s explain to you how to use the SAT emulatorwith which you can check how this year’s declaration will turn out, corresponding to the 2023 tax year. That is why we say that it is the 2023 declaration even though you have to do it in 2024. For this we are going to use a simulator that uses your information pre-filled to quickly process how everything is going to turn out.

This is a declaration that must be made by both companies and people who offer professional services, those who collect rent for real estate or have purchased an asset, those who have 1 or more employees, or people with a salary of more than 400,000 Mexican pesos, in addition to those who receive salaries from foreign companies. Also those who have sold real estate or receive compensation or retirement benefits.

But remember that this website is only a simulator, and is only used to check if you will pay or receive money. If you have a favorable balance, you must write down the CLABE number of your personal bank account and save the information, which will remain that way until you send your return.

How to use the SAT 2023 simulator

To enter the SAT simulator for your tax year 2023 return, you have to go to the website sat.gob.mx/personas. On this page, you have to click on the section Statements and then click on Submit your Annual Declaration for individuals and learn about the simulator for 2023.

This will take you to a page where you have to add your RFC o Federal Taxpayer Registry, and then use your e.signature and password to log in. The system will ask you to fill in a series of data personal information to be able to generate your annual declaration.

And then you just have to fill out other information requested by the system, such as your income, reductions, withholdings and other payments. Once you have everything, check the data carefully and submit the form using your e.signature. When you do so, the SAT will send you to your email or tax mailbox the acknowledgment of receipt of the annual declaration, and a notice of whether you are going to pay or receive money from the SAT.
