This Wednesday afternoon, elements who presented themselves as police officers raided Zac Mbao’s Khadija Clinic. Several people were arrested while these police were looking for an individual on the patient register. Dr. Mansour Diop, administrator of the clinic, issued a press release to reveal what happened in its structure. Here is his press release.
“This Wednesday, August 02, 2023, at 4:30 p.m., a strong contingent of around fifty elements aboard three vehicles presented themselves at the Khadija ZAC Mbao clinic and presented themselves as police officers. The security guard who asked for their identification to introduce them to me in order to inquire about the reason for their visit was immediately overpowered and loaded into one of their vehicles.

About twenty elements immediately went to the first floor where three patients and an accompanying person were waiting in line. One of the patients has already been consulted and then received a bandage from the nurse. It was when giving him the prescription for an x-ray that the nurse knocked insistently on the door of my office, to alert me. The three patients and the accompanying person were immediately arrested. No word was spoken to me.
They proceeded to take photos, then to identify the patients, then they came back down. After fifteen (15) minutes, they left the premises, then released the security guard who was surprised and speechless for more than ten (10) minutes, visibly traumatized by the scene. Ten (10) minutes later, two agents came back to demand the identity of all the patients who were taken care of in the service during the day. They demanded that they be given the reason for consultation of a patient chosen from the consultation register.

All the facts that we report took place without presentation of a professional card, even less of a judicial requisition. ‘So they left around 6 p.m., leaving us in total disarray, professionals, hospitalized and accompanying people, all scared’we read on the press release of the structure.
