The Minister of the Environment, Mircea Fechet, said that he had a working visit to Bacău county last week and walked on the street in front of the garbage truck.

He says he talked to the people who put the trash in front of the yard.
“In addition to those amounts of recyclable materials that end up in landfills, when they could end up in processing plants to generate investment and jobs, we found an extraordinary amount of biodegradable waste,” he said.
- “Many of the people were mowing their lawns and pretending to send the freshly cut grass tens of kilometers away to the landfill. In my opinion, it’s a mistake, a waste of resources and money.”
What else did he discover in the trash cans in Bacău
“We found large, but large amounts of textile waste in almost every trash can,” said Fechet, during a conference organized by cursdeguvernare.ro.
- “When determining the composition that I did together with the “Vasile Alecsandri” University in Bacău and representatives of the intercommunity development association for sanitation and related sanitation companies, we found significant amounts of textile waste in addition to the conventional ones: metals, glass, diapers, diapers, electrical and electronic waste.
“People throw all kinds of stuff in the trash, that’s the truth,” he says.
Fechet is of the opinion that it should be explained to the population that large quantities could end up either in recycling or composting facilities, or be used in one form or another.
“This would not only mean a saving of money, but also a cleaner environment for each of us”, states the Minister of the Environment.
