What time do Los Jaivas perform at the Viña Festival 2023?

The truth of the matter is that there is no defined itinerary because we know that, if the Monster wakes up fully, he can get musical artists to sing for up to two hours. That is why, after the two previous days, the time of the final show has been around 2:00 in the morning.

Of course, this Tuesday the show has been faster than the previous ones, so it is expected that after 1:00 and after the folkloric and international competitions, The Jaivas come out.

Like all the artists that will perform at the Viña del Mar Festival, the legendary band gave a press conference before their presentation, marked by his 60-year career, the 40 years since his first show at Quinta Vergara and the 20 years since the departure of “Gato” Alquinta, an important member of the band.

Claudio Parra, one of the oldest members of the group, indicated that “Obviously it is wonderful to feel the support of the people, the press, the public. Thanks to that, today we have been able to celebrate 60 interrupted years of history on stage”.

At the same time, Mario Mutis commented that “The support of the people has been spontaneous, natural, ecological. We have never made music to be famous or to earn money, none of those things. The need for us and for every artist is always to manifest. (…) Without trying to copy anyone, trying to make our own music, and we managed to create a musical language”.

“When you listen to a song by Los Jaivas, it doesn’t look like any. It has its own personality, and that is called the creation of a musical language”he added.

In addition, Mutis highlighted that “Interestingly, the public has not aged with us, but has been incorporated as new generations have been born. (…) We have been present in the history of many people. From their personal experiences, their achievements, their failures, their needs. And that is what we are grateful for, because these people have always been by our side, and it has been a positive sign, they have been adding up”.

Juanita Parra, also spoke at the conference and pointed out that they have lived with all the commemoration of their 60 years “in the best way for us, which is playing. We started playing on January 19, so we already have about 14 concerts to date. That is very nice, because it allowed us to reconnect with our public”.

“There is a new generation of children at the bars, and roads to the dressing rooms, screaming for us. Something that happened during the pandemic, without us even playing. What better way to celebrate 60 years of history with children who are just beginning their lives, but feel connected to our music”valued.

It will certainly be a spectacular presentation.
