What to do if Night Shift isn’t working [iPhone, iPad e Mac]

2024-03-29 11:00:00

For a few years now, Apple has allowed you to use the function Night Shift on your iPhone/iPad and your Mac.

For those who are not yet familiar, this feature causes the device’s screen to have warmer tones at the end of the day — which can help with a better night’s sleep, as your eyes will be less tired compared to using the device in normal light.

If, for some reason, this feature is not working as it should, below are some tips on what can be done. Let’s go?! 📱

  • Check, in the settings of the Night Shiftif it is scheduled and if the color temperature is in accordance with your preference.
    • To see this on iPhone/iPad, open Settings and go to Screen and Brightness » Night Shift.
    • On your Mac, open System Settings, click Displays in the left sidebar, and select “Night Shift…”.
  • If you chose to schedule the Night Shift for “Sunset to Sunrise”, make sure the date and time are applied correctly.
    • On iPhone/iPad, open Settings, tap “General” and “Date & Time”. Then, choose “Automatically”.
    • On your Mac, open System Settings, click “General” and “Date and Time”. Finally, select “Set date and time automatically”.
  • See if “System Personalization” is turned on.
    • With your iPhone/iPad Settings open, go to Privacy and Security » Location Services » System Services and activate “System Personalization”.
    • On a Mac, you can do this by going to “Privacy & Security” (in System Settings), then Location Services » System Services » System customization.
  • Make sure your device is using the most up-to-date version of the operating system.
  • If the feature still isn’t working, try restarting your device and trying again. Or, if you want, restore the device to factory settings.

As always, we hope the tips above help resolve the issue! 😉
