what to do in the endgame of season 3? (Beginners Guide)

2024-02-10 09:23:08

Once the main campaign of Diablo 4 finished, a whole new adventure begins. Season 3, titled Construction Season, offers players challenges to overcome and quests to explore, extending the gaming experience well beyond the final confrontation with Lilith. Of course, this guide concerns players who start Diablo 4 during this season. Here is an overview of the Diablo 4 endgame activities.

Diablo 4 offers a lot more than its main campaign, but players won’t discover that until after defeating Lilith. Blizzard has hidden many of the challenges that keep Sanctuary alive in the endgame. These activities will bring your character towards the endgame and level 100, even if level 100 in itself is not a goal.

In addition to the Vaults, the specific dungeons of this season 3, the Season of Assemblies asks players to slay Malphas, a demon who has taken control of an ancient technology. However, the bug is tough (especially in its Uber version), and you will need to be prepared before facing it. To do this, you will have to level up, perfect your build and your equipment.

Managing difficulty (World Tiers)

The difficulty of the game can be changed after completing the main quest of Diablo 4. And this is the first thing to do: go to Kyovashad, touch the statue and go to level 3: Nightmare. This level will give you more XP, more difficulty, and better legendary items. To be able to change this level, you will need to be level 50 and beat the Limit Stone dungeon located in the cathedral just above the statue.

Once you reach level 70, you will have to move to world level IV: Torment. Much more robust around levels 70, it will allow you to test your build and above all to magnify it with ancestral objects which will surprise you with their quality!

Nightmare dungeons

This is not specific to season 3, but Nightmare Dungeons are one of the most profitable activities: in xp and loot. How to access it? Simply by clicking on emblems from your inventory. You open the map, you TP on the dungeon, and you clear everything. Good big packs of Elites await you and you one-shot at the beginning, you have to hang on.

The emblems also have a level: from 1 to 100, which indicates the level of difficulty. Each nightmare dungeon will drop you higher level emblems, facilitating your progression in these levels.

At the end of a nightmare dungeon, a bubble protects you and allows you to improve your glyphs! These glyphs are kinds of stones that you insert into each panel of your paragon table. By increasing the level of these glyphs, you extend their zone of influence on the Paragon table.

Paragon paintings

Once level 50 is reached, your character can no longer progress in his skills, and a new table opens for him: the Paragon table. This table is made up of panels (the first cannot be changed) that you can assemble and turn in your own way. On each panel there are boxes, to be unlocked with your level progression. For each level taken you will have 4 Paragon points. This customizable tree will really give your build its identity

Paragon boxes or nodes are of several types:

  • normal nodes that give you stat bonuses
  • rare nodes that have boosted bonuses
  • magic knots that have special abilities
  • a node for a glyph
  • a legendary knot.
  • a junction knot between the paragon panels

Each Paragon is different depending on your class, and gives possibilities for different builds, depending on the skills you play and your unique items.

The infernal tides

The infernal tides are an almost permanent event in season 3. It is a huge area of the Open World, which varies, and which is symbolized on your map in red/ochre. In these infernal tides (or helltides) you will slay demons to amass aberrant ashes (brother), which you use to open tortured chests, scattered throughout the tide zone. Meteors will come and hit you if you’re not careful.

These chests give you targeted loot (amulets, boots…this is indicated by clicking on the chest), as well as emblems, glyphs…There are also special chests, which only appear on the map if you are in one. close, and which will allow you to loot living steel for 275 aberrant ashes. This item is necessary to access Grigoire, one of the game’s uber-bosses.

After the Season 3 update, Hell Tides are now available 24/7, with only a 5 minute break between them. Players will unlock these events on Nightmare difficulty and will have to face the Commanders of the Infernal Tides to obtain valuable loot. Be careful, at the end of an infernal tide any unspent aberrant ash is lost!

Infernal tide zones are at the center of Diablo 4’s Uber-boss mechanics, requiring a certain type of item to face them. Living steel for Grigoire, who himself drops Fragments of Agony to face Duriel…

The Whispering Tree

The Whispering Tree functions as a quest board in the open world. Located in the northeast corner of Hawezar it will be a good source of XP and loot. When players have completed the main story, they will receive a Priority Quest which will direct them to the Tree, which will ask them to gather Sinister Favors which are obtained after completing different missions. Each mission rewards you with favors:

  • Complete a dungeon: +5 Sinister Favors
  • Harvest an area: +3 Sinister Favors
  • Clean out a cellar: +1 Sinister Favor
  • Completing an event: +1 Sinister Favor
  • Kill an elite: +1 Sinister Favor
  • Kill one type of enemy: +1 Sinister Favor
  • Complete a Ritual: +3 Sinister Favors
  • Defeat a World Boss: +5 Sinister Favor.

The main objective is to earn 10 Sinister Favors which can be exchanged for reward packs. The cool thing with season 3 is that you can accumulate Sinister Favors and farm Assemblies zones, and that gives you massive amounts of XP and loot.

Power Codex

The Power Codex in Diablo 4 is a collection of Legendary Aspects that you can print on your items at The Occultists. These upgrades can be used on Rare or Legendary items. Each Aspect can be obtained in two ways:

  • by completing a dungeon that gives you this aspect in infinite quantity in your Codex
  • by extracting it from a legendary item, which breaks the item in question and gives you the aspect to print only once

Even if the Power Codex is unlocked early in the main story, it will be a hell of a job to get all the aspects for each class. However, certain aspects are central to your build, and you will not cut them.

World Bosses

Each season of Diablo 4 adds new World Bosses to test players’ builds. World Bosses are huge demons that appear on the Sanctuary map. Players can encounter them randomly, but only after completing the campaign will they receive World Boss notifications. Keep in mind that this is the only way to be notified in-game when these huge demons will appear, but fans have managed to create World Boss trackers online.

The three main World Bosses in Diablo 4 are Ashava, Greed, and Wandering Death. All you have to do is go to the location to take part in the fight. In general there are high level people so I advise you to stay away and let the adults do their thing, you will just have to bend down to pick up the loot after 30 seconds of combat. And the World Boss loot is delicious with the possibility of Uniques or level 925 items.

Les Uber Boss

One of the main endgame activities in Diablo 4 is farming bosses, for their ability to drop uber unique items. These highly prized items profoundly modify a build and are necessary to face very endgame adversity: level 90+ dungeons, Uber Lilith and other festivities. There are 7 of them:

  • Gregory
  • Echo of Varshan
  • The Beast in the Ice
  • Lord Zir
  • Uber Duriel
  • Uber Malphas
  • Echo of Lilith

Lilith’s Echo is the final boss of the endgame. Lilith’s Echo from Diablo 4 is a level 100 boss, and is designed to be the ultimate enemy in Diablo 4. This demon that is fought in two phases can be found in the Echo of Hate and will only be available when you play World Tier 4. It’s hell to solo, except for certain classes and builds like the HOTA Barbarian.

The Cellars

New Events in Diablo 4 Season 3 introduced Vaults and Nightmare Vaults, a new type of Dungeon that players must explore to complete their seasonal journey and face the demon Malphas. These dungeons provide loot and XP, but also Harmony Stones to modify your 6-legged friend, the Seneschal companion. A sort of sidekick that buffs you or attacks enemies, and that you can customize by inserting various stones into its slots.

Arcane Trembles

Players will encounter arcane thrills in the Open World, localized events where you will fight against Constructs and activate obelisks, to collect Protection Stones among other things. These Stones are to be given at the start of the Vault to protect you from traps and also to open more chests at the end. You will therefore go from obelisks to Assemblies, to have Stones of Elements, to put in the Braziers to summon Heralds of Malphas.

And there you have it, everything you can do after completing the Diablo 4 main campaign.
