• A competition much more commented on than the previous one
At the heart of 9.5 million messages published on social networks, the 2023 Rugby World Cup is more commented on than the previous one, that of 2019, in Japan: 32% more messages.
• The quarter-finals are the subject of more messages than the semi-final
The multiple matches thrill Internet users, between domination of the northern nations, surprise victories, thrills and eliminations. Note, the quarter-final matches between England/Fiji and France/South Africa (more than 600,000 messages) caused more noise than the semi-final (450,000 messages).
• South Africa, New Zealand, France among the star teams on social networks
The 20 nations that competed during this global competition punctuated the social media platforms during the matches. Among them, five teams shine and do well:
