What will happen in the 8th episode of The Last of Us?

The eighth episode of The Last of Us promises to bring a lot of tension and moments of great action. After last Sunday’s episode focused on Ellie’s past, adapting what we saw in the “Left Behind” DLC, now the series will return to the present as it shows Ellie needing to survive on her own.

While the survivor recovers from a serious injury, and his life is still in danger, the girl must face a variety of dangers to keep them safe. With this, the series will introduce a new character who has a lot of importance in the plot.

???? Attention! Spoilers below.

In the game developed by Naughty Dog, in one of Ellie’s hunts to get food during the period in which Joel is incapacitated, the girl ends up encountering other survivors who offer medicines that may be important for Joel’s recovery. After meeting David, who is the leader of an unknown group, the girl must face a horde of infected alongside the man and both help each other to survive.

However, some time later Ellie discovers that the new acquaintances actually brought problems and is captured by the enemies. In the Naughty Dog game, we discover that David is the leader of a group of cannibals, with Ellie in great danger. It is also in this excerpt that we see one of the most impactful and strong scenes of the first title in the franchise.

If the HBO-produced series remains faithful to the original material, the episode should have intense combat against both humans and infected. We should also see Joel recovering towards the end of the episode, going in search of Ellie and confronting enemies from the same group that captured the girl.
