After adding a button to make it easier to create custom filters, WhatsApp has added a new tool to its beta version for Android. Now, the messenger will allow a user to block messages from strangers.
The new feature was added to test version 2.24.20.16, as reported on the website WABetaInfo. It is present in the “Advanced” section, within the application settings, in the item named “Block messages from unknown accounts”, as shown in the following screenshot.
The feature consists of monitoring several messages received from an unknown contact, in a short space of time. If this happens, WhatsApp will understand it as spam and may block it automatically.
